SouthAmerica.travel Opens a New Seattle Travel Agency Office
Published: 05/31/2012 by SouthAmerica.travel
The most recent development in the history of the South America travel agency SouthAmerica.travel is the opening of a new sales and marketing office in downtown Seattle, where a team of travel consultants and marketers will begin to make their presence known in the Seattle area.
SouthAmerica.travel has been sharing its passion for traveling throughout South America since 1999. They specialize in 4* & 5* custom South America tours, including cruises and specialty trips. The company has 5 international offices, including 3 incoming tour operator offices in South America. There are operations and sales teams in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Lima. The company also has satellite offices in Germany and the USA. The US office will now be located in downtown Seattle, in the historic Prefontaine Building.
The choice to plant roots in Seattle was a strategic one. The company had a small headquarters office in Chehalis, Washington, located just south of Seattle. But business in Seattle is booming, and many factors contributed to having the company migrate northward.
"We chose Seattle because we love talking to our customers," says Juergen Keller, CEO of South America.travel. "By sitting in Seattle, our travel consultants are in the perfect position to talk to clients on the other side of the Pacific, with less to worry about in terms of time zones."
"We also love how the people of Seattle tend to be well-educated, and innovative," Juergen continues. And it's true - Seattle is now the gathering places for many up-and-coming innovative businesses, including Amazon.com, SEOMoz, and Newsvine.
The new Seattle travel agency office will not be open to walk-in traffic, since the company takes inquiries over the phone or online. The Seattle travel agency office has full-time sales staff who are fully-trained in the South America offices, have traveled extensively around South America, are fluent in English and well-educated. "It enhances customer service," says Juergen, "when our sales staff actually know what they are talking about, and are available on live chat or the phones throughout the day."
The company will continue to keep its other offices in South America and Germany, so that clients all over the world can speak with travel consultants nearly any time of day.

SouthAmerica.travel also looks forward to being more involved and making its presence known in the Seattle travel agency community. "The Seattle travel industry is pretty active," says Kaitlin McMichael, who runs the marketing team in the Seattle office. "There are several travel agencies in the area, from home-based agents to the big-names like Expedia. And there are nearly monthly social gatherings for travel industry folks to meet-and-greet."
The newest addition to the Seattle travel agency scene, SouthAmerica.travel hopes to be able to increase local reach and position itself as a leading and active member of the Seattle travel industry. "We want other home-based agents and Seattle travel agencies to know that we can work with them," says Kaitlin. SouthAmerica.travel offers some of the best travel agent commissions in the industry, and can work with any agency to handcraft a custom South America vacation for their clients.
